ABSTRACT

In many ways this book is perhaps unique insofar as it is written to offer the reader an opportunity to experience and to appreciate, through dialogue, some of the diverse and challenging issues that can arise when working with a person who is confronted with the reality of progressive disability. It is composed of ficti tious dialogues between fictitious clients and their counsellors, and between the counsellors and their supervisors. Within the dialogues are woven the reflective thoughts and feelings of the client, the counsellor and the supervisor, along with boxed comments on the process and references to person-centred theory.
