ABSTRACT
It was a long cold night deep in the month of February 2006. He went into the operating room within less than two hours after perforation. But once out of the operating room, there was trouble getting him off the ventilator. There was sepsis. Pain. Cardiac complications. He was two long weeks in the intensive-care room. He survived!
