ABSTRACT
Yoga is known universally as a health-enhancement tool, used in conjunction with
meditation. It is a practical, non-religious form of mental and physical exercise used
the world over by Christians, atheists, Jews, Muslims and Buddhists. Yoga philosophy
accepts the body as a vehicle or vessel for the soul on its journey towards enlight-
enment. Master yogi of the east and west believe ‘know thy self ’ and therein lies the
answer to the universal riddle of life, death, leading to peace of mind, body and spirit.2
