ABSTRACT

Fire is a phenomenon in which light and heat is radiated during combustion. It is also a pattern of energy release. Combustion is a drastic chemical reaction releasing light and heat, which can only occur in the presence of a comburent, combustible material and when the burning point is reached at the same time. Plants on the earth absorb solar energy and carbon dioxide while releasing oxygen—the comburent—through photosynthesis, and providing large amount of wood and straw—the combustible material. However, combustion cannot happen even if both these substances exist, because a burning point has to be reached to trigger the drastic chemical reaction. Nature is so amazing that lightning in the sky and the eruption of volcanoes provide burning points for the peaceful earth and ignite wood and weeds, which adorn the earth with splendid color.
