ABSTRACT
Ever smaller amounts of DNA from deposits at a crime scene are interpreted today, much smaller than was originally envisioned in 1985 when DNA profiling was first implemented. These small deposits may not be associated with a visible stain, for example trace DNA deposited through handling. The DNA deposited may not be able to be associated with a particular body matter such as blood.
