ABSTRACT
Mark managed to maintain himself on his methadone. Helen encourages Mark to think about his alcohol use, and expresses her concern and her wanting him to give himself a chance for change. He finds it hard to hear that his alcohol use is problematic. He attends the counselling and realises how tired he is of it all, how much he wants to change. He mentions Subutex as an option. Helen and Dr Ashton discuss this. Mark begins the day programme. He has strong feelings for one of the participants - he discusses it with Helen and Tony. He decides he needs a clearer head, that he needs to go for the Subutex, and detox. This is organised with the agreement of the day programme. Helen acknowledged what Mark was saying and the session drew to a close with Helen confirming that she would speak to the other service early next week and get him referred.
