ABSTRACT

The preceding chapters have focused on the range of contributions that foreign investment and foreign invested enterprises have made to China’s development. In this chapter, we highlight the specific contributions of pioneering Hong Kong investors, the US-based consumer products company P&G, the Danish shipping and logistics company Maersk, and the Korean electronics company Samsung. Each firm or group of firms has charted a different path in China has made its own specific contributions to China’s development. Their stories show a finer grained picture of foreign contributions.
