It · was announced early in April that the Rome Secretary had appointed a Committee to inquire into the working of the Trµck Acts.

The Right Ron. Thomas Shaw, M.P., Lord Advocate for Scotland, is Chairman of the Committee, and the members are: Mr. E. A. Brotherton, M.P., fo.r ·Wakefield (a chemical manufacturer); Mr. F. Cawley, M.P., for the Prestwich Division of Lancashire (a, l;>leacher and calico printer); Mr. M. Delevingne, of the Home Office; Mr. J. Ramsay Macdonald, M.P., for Leicester (Labour); Mr. F. Maddison, M.P., for Burnley (Labour); Mrs. H. J. Tennant; and Mr. A. F. Yarrow, of the firm of Yarrow and Co., shipbuilders.
