June, 1896, show four girls in the Honours Division, of whom one obtained an Exhibition of £15 for' two years; 218 girls in the First DiVision; 66 girls in the Second Division.

The Queen's College, Cork, gave women the benefit of the doubt, and since 1888 several women have held scholarships in Cork. But in Galway and Belfast this has not hItherto been the case. However, by a. Royal warrant signed December 4,1895, an addition has been made to the statutes of the College, that" all scholarships and prizes shall be open to students of either sex." This change takes effect from OctOber 1, arid has been referred to with gratification in the Report of the President 6f Queen's College, Belfast, for the year 1895-96.
