ABSTRACT

A Departmental Committee appointed by the Home Secretary has lately been enquiring into the health of persons employed in lead works, and has made a Report. Unfortunately the evidence on which the report is founded has not yet been printed. To some degree, however, this defect is diminished by the circumstance that the lady sub-commissioners have also been investigating the subject. Miss Abraham visited a large factory near Newcastle, and Miss Orme and Miss Irwin conjointly visited a factory near Glasgow.
