ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we review an assortment of research papers prepared by public safety managers and experts in the field. The papers highlight the importance of being a “futuristic” thinker and finding ways to improve public safety operations. They consolidate trends, data and evaluate the possibilities of technology in the future. The research topics in this chapter include mobile biometric identification technology, innovative booking procedures, technology designed to monitor stress and physiological systems of police officers, videoconference police reporting systems and police pursuit technology.
