ABSTRACT
Researchers can choose the sample they wish to study either by random sampling or by non-random sampling. If they employ a random sample they can estimate from the figures they have obtained with their sample, with a certain degree of accuracy, the equivalent parameters for the population. The degree of accuracy of such estimates will depend on the sample size and the proportion of the population that they have sampled.
