ABSTRACT
The President, who was received with applause, said-We have asked you here to-day to witness the distribution of prizes and medals in relation to the amalgamated schools. There may be some who do not understand the term amalgamated school. Twelve months ago there existed in Dublin three schoolS, each remarkable for the strength of its teaching staff and the success of its students. ·These were the Royal College of Surgeons Sehool, the Carmichael, and the Ledwich Schools. These two latter schools were amalgamated with the College School to form a medical school second to none in the United Kingdom.
