Two or three weeks ago a short paragraph in the morning papers made English readers aware of the death of the well-known German novelist—Fanny Lewald. A brief notice of her career appears aB the first article in the Weimar women's paper, the Frauenberuf, from the pen of Jenny Hirsch, of Berlin. We give a translation.
