ABSTRACT

The Nouvelle Revue for March contains an admirable article by Dr. Frances Hoggan, on Medical Women in India, The question is well known to us already—in France it appears to be new. Mrs. Hoggan gives the whole history of the movement in the three Presidencies, the experiences of the ladies, Dr. Nancy Monelle and Miss Beale, who, in Hyderabad, and in the Deccan, have shown the good that women doctors are able to achieve, and records the noble response which has been made in Bombay and elsewhere to her own masterly appeal a year ago on behalf of women physicians. The article will arouse much attention.
