ABSTRACT
The history of Mrs. Fry is so well known, her own writings were so deservedly popular, and there have been so many biographies written of her, that it would be unfair to expect anything new in this book. We could have wished that a biographer of Mrs. Fry had felt a little more sympathy with the public and philanthropic work.
