ABSTRACT

Dear Madam,—Knowing you are interested in all that relates to women and their progress towards freedom and emancipation from ancient superstitions and thraldom of all kinds, you may be interested to hear a short account of a curious preaching crueade now carried on in this part of Wales by two young women of the collier class from Rondelle Valley, quite uneducated, but with such a flow of language (Welsh of course), and Celtic fire that would quite astonish English people if they heard them as I did last Sunday, praying, preaching and singing, (à la Moody and Sankey, though with a difference) to an audience which crammed a large chapel to overflowing, and was supposed to amount to more than a thousand persons, many of whom came from miles round, and have gone wherever they are advertised to preach in the district.
