ABSTRACT

So many persons have been inquiring for Mr. Stanton's book, that it will be a satisfaction to them to know where it can be easily and cheaply obtained. Every library belonging to a friend of the women's movement should possess it. Changes have been already made in some of the questions he discussed, although the book was only published this year. In France the divorce law has been passed. In Norway the university is entirely open, and women can practice as pharmacists. It would be impossible to expect that Mr. Stanton should give us a fresh edition of his important work every two or three years, but no better proof could be given of the wide importance of the theme of which he has shown himself so able an advocate, than the fact that in one or two points we have already advanced beyond this record.
