ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the premise that school leaders' Professional Learning Community (PLC) has a coherent pacing guide to follow and that the foundational steps. After the team has established its norms, the first step in PLC meeting is to determine the instructional unit and the standards that will make up that unit. The data needs to be displayed in a manner that is easy to view for all, and allows each member of the team to provide relevant feedback. After everyone has the data, it is time to begin some very purposeful conversation. Depending on the pacing or assessment schedule, a PLC may commonly find its meetings have overlapping needs and agenda items. Having clear and attainable expectations is part of leadership; however, these expectations most also be understood by those who are supposed to be meeting them. Teachers should have an understanding of what will be happening and what they will need to bring to each meeting.
