ABSTRACT

I never realized until now what peculiar elements of character are requisite to make us efficient instructors to those people-what foresight, penetration, keen discernment, ready apprehension of their innumerable phases of dispositions and temperaments, tact in the adoption of means and measures, and above all, hearts filled with the sanctifying love of Chnst, and rich in the graces of the Holy Spirit. It seems to me that God has committed to us, the missionary teachers, the future of these people, the destiny of immortal souls is in our hands, plastic minds are to be molded by our hands, for good or evil, in beauty or deformity .... Oh! "who is sufficient for these things?"
