ABSTRACT
This chapter explores how the new inspection regime affected the very content of adult videos (AVs). It also explores how the category of kikatan emerged and how this new category is different from the established categories of tantai and kikaku at the narrative level. The chapter shows that kikatan is a fusion of tantai and kikaku, featuring a single beautiful actress in a narrative which is in many ways a radicalised and reunified version of kikaku. It examines a movie called There Is a Rumour that Sexual Intercourse Will Be Allowed One Hour per Day in a Famous Downtown Touch Pub. The movie invites audiences to join the adventure of Scoop crew members: to verify a rumour that a famous touch pub located in downtown Tokyo has a special ‘hustle time’ that allows selected customers to have sex with the hostesses.
