ABSTRACT
In this article, Du Bois maintains that the exploitation of Blacks through slavery represents the foundation for the exploitation of labor in the modern industrial system. He asks for the European powers to abandon their control of Africa and to return German colonial holdings to native rule. Doing so, Du Bois feels, would be at least some small compensation for European domination and misrule.
