ABSTRACT

Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage city of around 100,000 inhabitants, is the most important tourist destination in Laos—a country known for its “laid back” and friendly people. It can be described as a tourist “mecca.” The main road in Luang Prabang is Sisavangvong/Sakkaline Road in “the old city” tourist area. Another important street is Manthatoulat, which runs along the Mekong River. On Siasavangvong Road one finds many restaurants, tourism agencies, and massage parlors.
