ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author attempts to provide a sense of the women's complex lives and experiences. The author tells the stories of the 12 women who were each interviewed twice and who were actively involved in Women Organizing Activities for Women (WOAW) and the Research Team in the year 2000. The author did not embark on this project with the intention of gathering life stories, so the subsequent stories have gaps and omissions. Through the lens of author's research questions, she formulated partial stories based on crude classifications. As well, the stories are not equal in length - half are long and detailed because of availability of data, while the others are significantly shorter. The stories are grouped according to the women's WOAW subgroup affiliation. After the women's stories the author has drawn together emergent themes that relate to the research questions she posed.
