ABSTRACT
All known megalithic tombs in Västergötland occur in the Falbygden area, centred on the small market town of Falköping. About 70 per cent of all the Swedish passage graves and the very largest and most impressive ones occur here. There are only three possible dolmens. Within the town of Falköping itself the remains of sixteen monuments can still be seen. It is the only town in Sweden in which passage graves are still preserved.
