ABSTRACT
When I returned to Crooked Pine, Hawk and Owl and Jade were walking to Willow’s family burial hill. Soon it would be time for Owl and Jade to return, before snow closed the mountain pass. This was the last chance for Owl to talk to her brother privately. Willow and her two children stayed at home, getting ready for the Harvest Moon Festival.
