ABSTRACT

A few wispy clouds had formed on the western horizon when I arrived at Pig Mountain. Piggy and Jade had climbed to the top the day before. They slept in a small tent which they set up beside Pig Mountain’s right ear, for protection from the wind. The view from the top was spectacular. I could see the rosy light from the sun, although it hadn’t broken the horizon yet. The stars were fading, with only the brightest still visible. It was time for us all to perform our spectacle. I did an unbirdlike thing, and crossed two claws for good luck.
