ABSTRACT

The documentarian in the archaeologist/documentarian collaboration team can make most of the production's technical decisions. Nevertheless, the archaeologist should have some basic knowledge of video production equipment and the various formats in this medium. With that newfound awareness on the archaeologist's part, the duo can be able to better communicate during the documentary filmmaking process to come up with the best possible product. It is important to note that if people are working in a foreign country and contracting with a local video production service that does not shoot in National Television System Committee (NTSC), the video must undergo a standards conversion process to be compatible with the format they can be using in post production. If they are producing in the NTSC standard and wish to show their documentary in a foreign country that does not utilize this standard, it must likewise undergo a standards conversion in order to be televised.
