ABSTRACT
Fueled by widespread concerns about climate change and fossil fuel depletion, global markets for clean energies have grown into the hundreds of billions of dollars. As these markets continue to expand, the question for sugarcane ethanol manufacturers in Brazil is a complicated one: how to remake an energy source that has been produced domestically for a century into a modern “sustainable” biofuel in order to capitalize on this demand?
