ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses author's conversation regarding next generation of scholars. Qualitative research is the best way to remember the people behind the numbers. In the chapter the author explores that the ways qualitative research can impact other people, and they each do it differently. 'What is qualitative research's place' Jennifer asks. 'His quantitative methods professor says that the role of qualitative research is to raise questions that can later be answered by quantitative research, but he think it's got to be more than that'. For communication scholars; qualitative research is the reminder that their study of human communication connections between people, shared symbols and meanings, constructed emotions and ideas. The chapter examines that author's one of the special concerns is a body of knowledge that stands the test not only of writing done in English but in communication conducted in the English language, or to the extent it is language-based communication, but communication across many language varieties and across many nations.
