ABSTRACT
The focus of this chapter is on the announcer as actor, a performer in the theater of the mind. If that sounds like a throwback to the ancient golden age of radio drama, it shouldn't. Any radio performance still needs to have its roots in theatrical performance. In fact, the more our society becomes Visually oriented, the more important the announcer as actor becomes.
