ABSTRACT

In the opening paragraphs of Chapter 1, I explained that I am a part owner of a family farm in northeast Missouri. On the largest part of that farm, the actual cropping operations are handled largely by Will Bier, a neighboring farmer. The principal crop produced on the farm in recent years is corn – thousands of bushels of corn – along with some wheat and soybeans. The farm also supports some modest livestock grazing, handled by another local farmer who pays rent for our pasture areas.
