ABSTRACT

Having explained in Chapter 4 what agroecological husbandry is in general terms, and how it could fit into a larger fabric of ecological, social, and economic reform, I now to turn to specifics. In particular, I examine here (i) how agroecological husbandry addresses key problems inherent in modern

extractive agriculture (section I) and (ii) what progress has been made in designing perennial polycultures as a central element of agroecological husbandry (section II).
