ABSTRACT

Chapter 5 explores a potential synthesis of Jung’s and Patañjali’s approaches to consciousness. The efficacy of the unconscious is examined along with the depth psychological and yogic ideas on the mind–body unity. The research reveals that affect, as an empirical means of entering the psyche, and the phenomenon of synchronicity can forge a potential bridge between depth psychology and the nondual orientation of Classical Yoga. A holograph heuristic device is mobilized to consider how pure consciousness, which Patañjali presents as our true nature, can be Reality and yet not often realized as such at the level of our human awareness.
