ABSTRACT
This final chapter reviews the general philosophical principles that I have drawn on as the foundations for various arguments throughout this book. Many of these principles draw on the work of important figures from the history of philosophy – though modern philosophers often use these principles to draw different conclusions about sexual ethics than the original thinkers did, if these thinkers even discussed sexual ethics at all. The principles discussed are liberty and autonomy, equality, utility, and virtue.
