ABSTRACT
This chapter describes how political persuasion operates in an era of instant electronic communication and social media. It highlights the obsolescence of prior ideological matrices and the emergence of a fragmented, busy, and distracted form of consciousness. The shaping of public opinion under the new dispensation increases normlessness and confusion at the geopolitical level.
