ABSTRACT

This chapter presents practical guidelines for optimally managing the dark triad personalities. Counterproductive work behavior (CWB) is the reason for the growing interest in the dark triad personalities. Therefore, valid information and measurement of this behavior is needed. One important issue is the source of the data on CWB. As the main dimension of the dark triad traits, several specific suggestions for research on psychopathy have been advanced by scholars. Therefore, scholars strongly recommended more cross-cultural research on dark personalities. Research should investigate the impacts of corporate psychopaths on employees in different countries and cultures and examine potential strategies for dealing with them in the work-place. Much more research on Machiavellianism from a cross-cultural perspective is also needed. Another interesting cross-cultural question that requires further research is what will happen when successful narcissists are sent to work abroad, especially from individualistic to collectivistic countries.
