ABSTRACT
The Bible is shot through with song and praise to the glory of God. The Old Testament has a vast and varied collection of sacred song (for that is the meaning of psalm), and many great pceans of praise. The New Testament opens with the song of the angels at the birth of Jesus, and ends with the songs of the redeemed in heaven.
