ABSTRACT

In italic type below are three days of scripted lessons for introducing SEL to your classroom community. Diving immediately into the SEL, mindfulness, and yoga activities, without taking the time to lay the foundation, will potentially leave the students feeling confused and vulnerable. As with the other scripted lessons in this book, it is not recommended that you read the script aloud word-for-word, as that would not help develop your competency as a practitioner. Instead, the script is meant to be a reflective guide that provides a solid idea of how the content is framed, paced, and managed. Read the script a few times, take notes, and then make it your own.
