ABSTRACT

The title of this book reveals that it is a sequel; a continuation of a story and a theme that have been developing over time. The original intention of defining and refining the boundaries of project management still acts as the guiding vision; however, the range of topics and areas covered has widely expanded to encompass new perspectives and conversations that extend beyond the traditional remit of project management. Concerns around successful delivery, value realisation, resilience and making change stick force a significant re-evaluation of the scope and extent of the ‘normal’ project discourse. Some of the topics covered in this collection are mentioned in the various guides and bodies and knowledge, albeit briefly, many are yet to feature in them, whilst others are simply considered in a new light. Nonetheless, the common thread is around capabilities, skills, attitudes, values and perspectives that are needed for successful delivery and the sustained realisation of interest, relationships, benefit, value and impact.
