ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to identify various risks in the global supply chain and propose one solution to manage these risks for global decision makers with critical analysis. In order to reduce the risk and provide an approach to risk management in the global supply market, the five-step risk-based method has been applied to mitigate risks step by step. The majority of existing research applies tactical processes to approach supply chain risk management (SCRM) as risk identification, risk assessment and evaluation, selection of appropriate risk management, implementation of SCRM strategy and mitigation of supply chain risks. Competitive factors and trends that are imperative for an organisation to enhance efficiency and market competitiveness are termed the risk drivers.
