ABSTRACT

The Working Environment Act lays down the general objectives and requirements in relation to the working environment. The law covers physical and psychological work. The central part of the Act is the extended safety and health concept, which means that all factors causing accidents, sickness, and attrition must be taken into consideration in the prevention work. The Working Environment Act emphasizes that individual workplaces should be designed in a way which will prevent employees from being forced to leave the labor market due to attrition and stress. Anti-discrimination legislation in Denmark does not consist of one single piece of legislation but is a combination of numerous acts. If the employer determines that there is a risk of work-related violence outside working hours, the employer has a duty to ensure that work is planned, organized, and executed in consideration of preventing the risk of work-related violence outside of working hours.
