ABSTRACT

Although Germany does not have a specific workplace bullying law, the German Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs website states employers are obliged to protect their employees' right of privacy and health. The General Act on Equal Treatment (AGG), effective 2006, amended by Article 15, ensures equal treatment for all in the workplace and prohibits discrimination on any grounds and protects persons who have been the victims of discrimination on multiple protected grounds. The Works Constitution Act, promulgated by the Act of September 25, 2001, as amended 2009, regulates co-operation between employers and employees. It aims to fight xenophobia and racism at the workplace, and improves representation of women. The Labour Protection Act of 7 August 1996, last amended 2013, referred to as the Act on the Implementation of Measures to Improve Health and Safety of Employees at Work, as amended, implements safety and health measures to improve safety and health of workers at work.
