ABSTRACT

New Anti-Discrimination Acts entered into force on January 1, 2014 under a full revision and harmonization of existing anti-discrimination legislation and new lesbians, gay, bisexual, and transgender people (LGBT) legislation. The Anti-Discrimination Acts cover all areas, including employment, goods and services, health and social benefits, and so on. Age is the only discrimination ground with coverage limited to the employment sector only. The Working Environment Act, No. 62/2005 relating to working environment, working hours, and employment protection, as subsequently amended by the Act of 14 December 2012, No. 80, and Act of 18 December 2015, No. 104, covers, in relevant part, the psychosocial work environment. The Bully-Free Workplace, a project between the Norwegian government and its social partners, the major labor unions, and employers' organizations in Norway, is based on the Memorandum of Understanding on a more Inclusive Working Life and the Plan of Action for Combating Bullying.
