ABSTRACT

The Principle of Equal Treatment transferred European directives on the implementation of the principle of equal treatment for men and women as regards access to employment, vocational training and promotion, and working conditions and irrespective of racial or ethnic origin into the legal order of the Republic of Slovenia. The provisions of this Act do not exclude differentiated treatment on the grounds of a specific personal circumstance if such differentiated treatment is justified by a legitimate objective and the means of achieving that objective are appropriate and necessary. The Employment Relationships Act, effective April 12, 2013, prohibits bullying, mobbing, sexual harassment, and discrimination. Direct and indirect discrimination, defined consistently with the European Union (EU) directives, based on any personal circumstance is prohibited. The employer shall adopt measures to prevent, eliminate, and manage cases of violence, mobbing, harassment, and other forms of psychosocial risks at the workplace which can pose a threat to workers' health.
