ABSTRACT

Different from the method the author used to analyze the written sources, the iconographic works will be examined in accordance to the time when he was able to search the various collections. A photographic copy probably dated from the 1950s or 1960s, representing the same drawings, was used in some publications as illustrations of Florence’s equipment; it was among the documentation that examined from the beginning of the investigation. The image is composed of three columns, each one filled with three labels, combined into a total of nine labels. This seems to be the complete sheet of labels, which may have been obviously individualized after being “printed” by the action of light. In addition to the photographic copies described previously, we must also refer to other copies made by Hercule Florence that are part of the Cyrillo Hércules Florence Collection, currently under the custody of Leila Florence de Moraes and the Moreira Salles Institute.
