ABSTRACT

After all work is what it is, not what we think it, and it can remain to be judged in higher courts than ours—higher and juster; but far more exacting and strict, to which, therefore, we ought to bring our day's and our year's work to be tested—frequently measuring for ourselves where it falls short, or errs. If we carry all there we shall care little for men's judgment, except as it throws light on facts.
