While serving in his regiment, a brave soldier received a hundred rubles from home. The top sergeant found out about this and borrowed the money from the soldier. When it came time to settle up the debt, he gave the soldier a hundred blows on his spine instead of the money. “I never, ever saw your money; you are accusing me of all this in vain.”
