ABSTRACT
The Department of Philosophy was established in 1951 as part of the Tadzhik Academy of Sciences. The Department has been headed by A. M. Bogoutdinov, M. R. Radzhabov, V. I. Pripisnov, GA. Ashurov and since 1985, M. D. Dinorshoev. In 1951 the Sector of Economic Research of the Tadzhik Subdivision of the USSR Academy of Sciences was reorganized to become the Department of Economics of the newly formed Tadzhik Academy of Sciences. In 1938, within the Tadzhik Base of the USSR Academy of Sciences, a Historical-Linguistic Sector was organized. In 1932 the Tadzhik Center of the USSR Academy of Sciences was founded, with a Historical-Linguistic Sector. On the basis of this sector and the Institute of Language and Writing under the People’s Commissariat of Education of the Tadzhik SSR, philological research in Tadzhikistan was established and began to operate systematically.
