ABSTRACT

Without drama, Sun Yutang married Wang Wu-chao in 1954, shortly after she had graduated, an economics major, from Tsinghua University. She was, it appeared, in awe of his scholarship. Sun had found her to be a lovely person, charming, sensible, kind, and adept in handling all the practical problems that taxed his patience and even defied his management. She was more than twenty years younger than he, but this did not appear to be a difficulty. She became a devoted and responsive member of his community of friends and working colleagues at Tsinghua. She was a caring and sharing wife and mother.
